§ First edition, printed at the Murdock Press. Daniel O'Connell (1849-1899) was a San Francisco journalist, poet, and co-founder and leading roisterer of the Bohemian Club. After his sudden death from pneumonia in 1899 this volume was prepared as a remembrance by Ina Coolbrith, the Bohemian Club librarian. The biographical sketch was provided by William Greer Harrison.
