Two autograph letters signed.
July 1990 and March 1993.
Two one-page letters in the original airmail envelopes. The first typewritten and hand signed with extensive manuscript postscript, the second written in ink. Letters creased as expected; the stamp has been clipped from one of the two envelopes; very good.
§ Two letters written by Rumer Godden to an admirer, the American author Mary Judith Robinson. The first is a copy of a typewritten form letter of thanks for appreciations sent, hand addressed to Robinson, hand signed "Rumer Godden", and with a friendly and personal 8-line postscript added in ink. The second is a handwritten letter sent three years later, thanking Robinson for a copy of a book she had written and explaining why she refrains from commenting on the writings of others. The two letters from Robinson which prompted these replies are included as photocopies.
