§ Copy #1290 of 1500 numbered copies, signed by the designer Allen Lewis. Lewis was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1873 and studied at the Ecole des Beaus Arts in Paris. He returned to New York in 1902, where he became a member of Alfred Steiglitz's circle and achieved recognition for his photographs and colored woodcuts. In 1915 he won a Gold Medal at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. Item #124818
