§ First edition of the standard work on the artist, with an original etching, 2nd state of 3, entitled ‘The Willow’ executed in 1850 for his admission to the Etching Club. A “Catalogue of the exhibited works and the etchings of Samuel Palmer” at pages [405]-422 served as the only catalogue raisonné until Lister’s work Samuel Palmer and his Etchings.
