4to., 24 leaves, the recto of each printed with an illustration in color and the text on the verso. Brown paper boards with a color print pasted on upper board, worn and chipped yellow dust-jacket printed in black and grey. Minor damp stains do not obscure text or illustrations; good.
§ Early impression of the first edition. One of the author’s books which features an alteration in format, in this case a hole appears on every page and is incorporated into the illustration; the author was know as “the ink-blot man.” Bingham & Scholt p. 286.
