Oblong folio, 8pp. plus 30 plates. Black buckram with illustration tipped onto top and bottom boards; illustrated throughout with plates from engravings by Felix Darley. Significant foxing to some plates, covers worn, some bumping to corners, chipping to edges. Very good.
§ First edition thus. Each plate is accompanied by a page of text. From an earlier work, published anonymously in Boston in 1845, though it was later discovered to be the work of one Rev. Judd from Augusta, Maine (this is explained on p. 1 of the volume). Item #103760
