The Wild Garden Verses for Children.
Flansham, Bognor, Sussex: Pear Tree Press, 1924. Large slim 8vo, (21) pp. Decorative half-title and title designed by Guthrie, 18 leaves of text + colophon calligraphed by Edith C. Goodwin, all pp. etched and hand-printed by Guthrie in a wide variety of colors. Loose as issued in the original stiff paper wrappers with title printed in gold on upper and Pear Tree device printed blind on lower, in original board slip-case (considerably larger than the book) with printed paper label (slightly rubbed). A pristine copy. Number 9 of 100 copies signed by Guthrie. The Authors Edition of Guthries poems, four of which had previously appeared in a book of the same title published by Selwyn and Blount in 1922. A fine example of Guthries intaglio printing in color, which he describes in his 1924 List of Books as pretty colours.
