First Edition thus, a slightly extended reprint of Statistics of the West, at the close of the year 1836 (Cincinnati, 1836 & 1837). In the course of his many careers Hall had certainly gotten to know the territory, and in this work he sets out to describe the topography, the wildlife, the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, agriculture, government policies, steamboats, and commercial prospects of the Midwest and Southeast states and territories.
