The Poems of Gray. A New Edition. Adorned with Plates.
London: T. Bensley for F. J. Du Roveray...and sold by J. Wright, 1800. Roy. 8vo, xxx, 162 pp., 6 plates (margins foxed) by Fuseli and Wm. Hamilton, engraved by T. Holloway. Regency red straight-grain morocco extra, covers panelled in gilt, gilt edges, a very handsome large-paper copy, in a de luxe binding of the period. First edition, beautifully printed and with fine impressions of the plates, here present in proof impressions before letters but with signatures and imprint. This was the last book to appear with Hamiltons illustrations in his lifetime as he died in late 1801. Du Roveray first issued this work with Bensley in 1800 and it was followed by a new (probably unauthorized) printing by Bulmer for the bookseller, Wright, with the same plates. Weinglass, Fuseli, 1557.
