East Aurora NY: Roycrofters, 1905. Sm. 8vo, (6), 159 pp. Decorative title-page printed in black and red with gold framing, color and gold-printed initial to each chapter. Original half violet morocco, gilt-stamped backstrip, gilt top, slightly faded. #62 of 106 copies on Japan vellum, signed by Elbert Hubbard and with a presentation inscription at the front in ink dated 1919 (signature illegible). Usually found in limp suede this may be a special edition binding by Louis Herman Kinder who worked for Elbert Hubbard. Wolfe and McKenna note: : Kinder, a German-born binder, was associated with Hubbard and the Roycrofters from 1897 to 1911. He later made custom bindings for Rudge and did restoration work for Dartmouth.
