London: Harrison and Co., 1782. 8vo, (2), 58; 140; vi, 7-157; 125; vi, 7-88; 101 pp, with plates to each novel. Old quarter calf, marbled boards, newly rebacked with brown cloth. The text is tightly bound but has a small triangular stain at the bottom outer corner of each page extending an average of about 1 cm up and 0.5 cm inwards (slightly more extensive at the cente of the volume): no text or platemarks are affected. Otherwise internally clean with very occasional minor mottling. "Sentimental Journey" ( title dated 1782 -1st issue) has Blake's plate at p56 in good condition, hand coloured in red and green. "David Simple ", (also dated 1782- first issue), has the Blake plate at p 66: a good clean imprint, more extensively coloured, including border. "Sir Launcelot Greaves" (dated 1782) has the Blake plate at p 45; uncoloured, but a good crisp impression. All Blake plates are in their first state and designed by Stothard. 6 novels??? bound together with a general title dated 1782. Three of these each have one plate engraved by Blake, together with plates by others.
