London: J. Cooke, c 1791. Folio, 724 pp, with 61 plates, including 2 hand coloured maps, and plan of Jerusalem, and 3 Blake plates a pp 12, 64, and 76. Worn condition with boards reattached. Print block in good condition and reasonably clean throughout, with sporadic edge browning, minor corner folds and tears affecting a few pages and plates. Plates at pp.8 and 65 torn with paper loss, not affecting plate (that on p.65 just touching plate border design). The 3 Blake plates in good condition. Bentley, Blake Books 477B. Essick, in William Blake's Commercial Book Illustrations p23 indicates the Blake plates here are the same plates used in Kimpton's History of the Bible (1781), but with borders re-engraved, and also here are in their second state (in this copy).
