A New and Complete Universal History of the Holy Bible.

London: J. Cooke, c 1781. Folio, 698pp, xxiv (index), with 60 plates including the 3 Blake plates at pp 19, 110 and 131. Generally very good: rebound in later 19th C in brown cloth and half brown morocco with wear to corners ane spine edges. Slight marginal tears to plates at p131 and 220 (outside platemark), tear to edge of pp 221/222 with loss of a few letters, plate at p 552 torn without loss and old repair, old faded inkstain to edge of plate at p 280, a few pages or plates foxed or browned, usually at edges. Overall a firmly-bound and very presentable copy. Bentley, Blake Books 478 notes the dating of editions of this book is unclear. Essick, William Blake's Commercial Book Illustrations 23 indicates the plates here predate the same plates used in an edition of Josephus at around the same date. (Item Id: 108752)
