A complete fourth edition with mixed but similar bindings: vols 1 and 3 from one set, worn calf with 7 gilt spine rules and gilt/red spine labels, and also a dark stain patch to top of covers of both vols, vol 2 similar size, wear and spine rules, no stains and slightly differing labels: vol No. a red/gilt disc. 12mo, (6), xxxii, 168 pp, with frontispiece and 15 plates; (2, titles, but no free front end paper), 190, (2) pp, with 17 plates; (6), 200 pp, with 18 plates. No half titles, but leading blanks, except vol 2. Covers worn at corners and spine edges: vols 2 + 3 showing 1+ cm cracks at top and bottom, but all bindings firm. A large set: 17.1 x 9.9 cm with wide margins; Vols 1 and 3 good: internally clean and unmarked, except for a pale stain at the top centre of two or three vol 3 plates: only on 1 plate ( and on a couple of text pp either side) does it extend 1 or 2 mm into plate margin. Marginal paper loss to p163/4, losing a few letters. Vol 1: 6 plates affected by the top damp stain, but at the top centre margin only, and not on images.
