Original white cloth, lettered and decorated in blue, endpapers spotted but plates and pages clean, dust-jacket slightly worn with a chip to the upper panel and head of spine, very good. Published for The Daily Telegraph newspaper as part of its National Bands campaign during the Great War. The separately printed speech 'National Bands' (4pp), delivered by Kipling at the Mansion House on 27 January 1915, is loosely inserted. Livingston 322. (Item Id: 108717)
