Folio, printed title-page, 17 hand-colored plates, including the final plate being a hand-colored fold-out plate measuring 44 1/2 x 34” comprised of four sheets. Half brown cloth and gray paper boards with title printed to upper board in black. Boards are chipped at edges, frayed slightly at head and tail of backstrip and somewhat age-toned, some scattered foxing—none affecting plates—a very good set of the plates. Bookplate of “A:Lanna” to first pastedown. “Cheap Edition,” very scarce. The atlas of Rudolph Siebeck’s hand-colored landscape designs. Siebeck (1812-1878), was a German-Austrian horticulturist and landscape designer. He worked with Carl Alexander Anselm Baron Hill from 1842 to 1845 in Vienna, and he was the city gardener of Leipzig from 1846 to 1857. His largest work was Stadtpark in Vienna, in addition to Schönbornpark (1862/63), the Esterházypark (1862-1869) and the avenues of the Viennese Ringstrasse (from 1863). (Item Id: 108609)
