Folio, iii, 206 pp., title-pages printed in red and black, 41 plates with tissue guards captioned in red, including the gilt heightened color frontisportrait, headpieces and large detailed initials. Half crushed green morocco and green cloth, backstrip with five raised bands and titling in gilt, uncut. A few minor smudges to the cloth, corners slightly bumped, first few leaves have faint foxing; a very good copy. With the bookplate of John Stafford Reid Byers, and many newspaper and magazine clippings affixed to last pastedown and endpaper. Second edition, one of 500 copies on “fine paper.” A sentimental biography of Mary Stuart with fine illustrations, this is John Skelton’s final work. (Item Id: 108380)
