[Single leaf from] Polychronicon.
[Westminster]: William Caxton, [after July 2 1482]. Single leaf (266 x 193 mm), rubricated, text to recto and verso. The leaf has old manuscript notes in the margins. Mounted, in very good condition with a few stains and a small hole not in the text block. Caxton leaves are not uncommon (there have been three Caxton leaf books published), and stray single leaves like this turn up. This is a very pleasant example of the first English printer at work. With a pamphlet by George Painter on the subject.
