Oxford: Henry Daniel, 1895. 8vo., [12], 63, [1] pp., inlaid photogravure portrait of Keats on the preliminary leaf, printers-device to verso of the Preface. Printed greenish-grey wrappers, handmade Rives paper, untrimmed and unopened. Backstrip slightly faded, some slight curling to the edges of the wraps, minor foxing to outer margins; very good. First edition thus. Of 250 copies this is number 40. The Portrait of the Poet is the work of Joseph Severn, a devoted friend of Keats, it has never until now been copied, the photogravure is by Mr. Hollyer of Pembroke Square, London. This selection of 25 poems by Keats is printed as a memorial of the hundredth anniversary of his birthday. The selection was made by Robert Bridges, a close friend of Henry Daniel. DP 36.
