Folio, 706 pp., [22], 62 steel engraved plates including frontis and eight maps, title printed in black and red, and tail-pieces, dedication page, lacks list of subscribers. Contemporary full speckled calf, blind- and gilt-stamped, raised bands, red morocco label affixed to backstrip with title stamped in gilt. Backstrip is chipped at head and tail, upper board is lose from hinge but still attached at the joint, title page is chipped at edges, minor fixing; very good copy. Bookplate of Charles and Virginia Baldwin, with ink signature of Charles and Virginia Baldwin on front endpaper. Printed one year after the first edition with dedication page dated 1767. Plates by Grignion. Contains Columbus’s Four Voyages, and the voyages of Magellan, Dampier, Woods, Rogers, Anson, Conquest of Mexico by Cortes, Conquest of Peru by Pizarro, Wafer’s Voyage to Darien, &c., &c.
