Quarter morocco and hand-marbled paper, with paper label on front, each in a brownish-red, cloth covered slip case. Each volume’s individual slip case has gilt stamped numbers on the lower spine. Signed by Graham on the colophon page. This copy is missing the larger slip case that encloses the set. Very fine.

§ Number 16 of 540 copies. 35 copies numbered I to XXXV, were bound in full morocco, and another 26 copies, numbered A to Z, were reserved for the publishers. The first three volumes are reproductions of sketchbooks used by John Constable ; the fourth volume is a reproduction of a sketchbook used by Lionel Constable, son of John ; the fifth volume contains an introduction, a list of plates, and a commentary.
