The Blake-Varley Sketchbook of 1819 in the Collection of M.D.E. Clayton-Stamm. Introduction and Notes by Martin Butlin.

London: Heinemann, 1969. 2 vols., oblong 8vo, text vol. xiv, 40 pp., with 12 illustrations; facsimile vol. to match, in calf-backed green buckram, slipcase faded, and shows one small area that was repaired with identical cloth, backstrip scuffed on volumes 1 and 2. Pages in fine condition. Limited to 800 copies. The facsimile of the notebook was printed by the Trianon Press. This is the “small” notebook which was broken up and sold at auction a few years ago. Almost invariably the facsimile volume is sprung, with many leaves coming loose. This copy, though sprung, has not yet suffered loose leaves.
