§ First edition. (A second series was published later, not present here). The author was a lieutenant in Lee's Legions and became aide-de-camp to General Greene. He saw active service until December, 1782. His work contains much original information. The characters and incidents are chiefly South Carolinian but there is also other material, picked up during his trips north and abroad. This volume is a valuable source for the Revolution.
