Wilfrid Meynell (1852-1948) was an editor and poet who, with his wife Alice Meynell, gathered a circle of literary Catholics in London in the first decades of the twentieth century. Friends included Yeats, Pound, Gosse, and Augustus John. Their son Francis was the founder of the Nonesuch Press.Richard Montgomery Tobin (1866-1952) was a San Francisco banker and later a diplomat. His sister, the writer Agnes Tobin, was close friends with Alice and Wilfred Meynell. Item #124174
