Colin Franklin, most diffidently charming of “marchands amateurs” of the 20th century (and to this day) writes about and illustrates books and scrolls from the earliest known printings to 19th-century travel books, all from his own collections no doubt. The central thesis was to share how to enjoy Japanese art and script without trying to “understand” it. A beautifully designed study from Jonathan Clark at the Artichoke Press. Item #122414
