§ Limited to 50 copies numbered and signed by Whitaker in the book and again on the broadside. This is copy 12. Whitaker wrote a eulogy for all the thousands of lynching victims in the United States and portrayed six with an engraved portrait and an account of their horrible fates. The broadside has the names of all the victims recorded. On April 30 2016 Whitaker organized a funeral for the c. 4000 souls to finally receive the last rites. A deeply moving testimonial printed by the brilliant kidney specialist, community activist, and artist, who studied with Leonard Baskin to achieve mastery of type and print.
