§ First US edition, preceded by the London edition. One of a limited issue of 500 with pocket on the rear pastedown containing the pamphlet “Notes On Ezra Pound's Cantos Structure and Metric” (pamphlet fine, pocket with a closed tear). Cantos LII-LXXI are known as the China Cantos and as they follow a thread of Chinese history. Cantos LXII-LXXI are known as the Adams Cantos and draw on the life and writings of John Quincy Adams.
