Folio, one pictorial title-page, one plate list, and 80 color lithograph plates, heightened in foils, printed to recto only. Disbound leaves housed in a half- brown cloth portfolio with marbled paper boards and green cloth ties. Portfolio splitting at joints and frayed, boards rubbed; plates are very bright with only a few with small tears at edges, none of which affect plates.

§ Professor Anton And l was instrumental in establishing an art curriculum in Austrian schools in the 1870s. His principals were foundational in how art would henceforth be taught. Those basic components of instruction were published for the first time here on a grand scale, and concentrate on the drawing of basic geometric figures and applying those to historic ornamental forms and the stylization of plants.
