Two vols., folio, 240 loose b&w plates with captions and single ruled borders, leaves are divided into six “tomes” each with their own paper wrapper which doubles as a title-page. Together housed in a quarter burgundy cloth portfolio with gray paper boards printed in burgundy and white, with cloth ties. Portfolio is a bit bumped at the corners, internally very good with only minor foxing to outer margins.
§ A profusely illustrated guide through several centuries of lighting design, from the ancient up to 1870, focusing on major stylistic trends that characterized each era. Henriot was responsible for a similarly authoritative survey of Luminaire Moderne. Item #108603
