Folio,  pp., 40 b&w collotype plates, 12 5/8 x 17 1/4”, with three small leaves of advertisements 6 1/4 x 9 1/2”. Red quarter cloth portfolio, with red paper boards, inlaid printed paper title, and red cloth ties. Some minor foxing to plates, portfolio is slightly frayed at backstrip, otherwise very good.
§ First edition of this thoughtful compilation of French and English design aesthetic from the period. The contents focus on interior design both in city houses and country cottages. The emphasis is on spaces such as living rooms, dining rooms, private studies, bathrooms, game rooms, salons, and smoking rooms, as well as hallways, staircases and landings. Item #108258
