Poospiza Erythrophrys and Synallaxis Whitii from The Ibis.

Original lithographed plate from Vol. V, 1881, of the fourth series of the Ibis, the quarterly journal of ornithology founded and edited P. L. Sclater. Poospiza erythrophrys, the Rusty-browed warbling finch, and Synallaxis Whitii., the Ochre-cheeked spinetail, are both natives of Argentina and Bolivia and were featured in the 1881 issue as being two "apparently new species" recently discovered by a Mr E.W. White of Buenos Aires, who sent the preserved skins to Sclater for determination and description. Item #108198
