§ Original lithographed plate from Vol. V, 1881, of the fourth series of the Ibis, the quarterly journal of ornithology founded and edited P. L. Sclater. Poospiza erythrophrys, the Rusty-browed warbling finch, and Synallaxis Whitii., the Ochre-cheeked spinetail, are both natives of Argentina and Bolivia and were featured in the 1881 issue as being two "apparently new species" recently discovered by a Mr E.W. White of Buenos Aires, who sent the preserved skins to Sclater for determination and description. Item #108198
