Original pen and ink sketch over pencil, 9 x 13 1/4 inches. Paper age-toned and a little creased, minor chipping to edges, small round hole (d.1/2 inch) just above the dancers' raised arms; very good.

§ A bold and lively sketch by Isaac Robert Cruikshank, usually known as Robert, in pen and ink over pencil. Two dancers strike a pose while three figures look on. Robert Cruikshank (1789-1856), the brother of George Cruikshank, was a significant illustrator and caricaturist in his own right and also collaborated with his brother on several occasions.
