Original pictorial tan cloth a little toned, black coated endpapers, covers decoratively stamped in black with illustrations by Holiday, backstrip lettered in black, neatly repaired. Small white bookseller's ticket on front pastedown for J. Stockley of New Bond Street., small gold bookseller's ticket on rear pastedown for Books, Inc. of San Francisco.

§ First edition, a pleasant copy of this great nonsense poem, which contains some of Carroll’s best loved lines and Holiday’s best illustrations. There was also a red cloth binding, issued as a special presentation binding: 100 were bound thus, 80 of which Dodgson inscribed at one go in the publishers' offices according to Maggs.
