Leipsic: Karl Baedeker Publisher, 1904.
Small 8vo., xlii, 424 pp., 26 color maps including many fold-outs. Full red pebbled cloth, stamped in blind, with gilt title, marbled edges. Backstrip and joints are frayed, missing first endpaper; otherwise very good.
First edition thus, compiled from the three more detailed volumes for Northern, Central, and Southern Italy. Meant for travelers confining there adventures mainly to the attractions of Rome and Naples, in the space of about five weeks. Despite some wear to the binding this is a internally bright and complete volume, perhaps frayed from the pockets of travelers putting it to good use. Item #108288
